While reading a book related to organizational behaviour, the author clearly define how to praise the sub coordinates contributions in each organization? The author also highlight the importance of the rewarding the employee with their excellent performance they done will lead to the success to the organization. He presenting so many methods which will improve the workers involvement in the organization, but the merit system was really success one.
According to the author of that book, each small task completion will give the worker a special bronze coin. Every 7 bronze coins can be converted to one silver coin and every 4 silver coins can be converted to 1 gold coin. At end of year each gold coin will carry one month bonus, each silver coin will paid by one week bonus and each bronze coin will carry one day bonus. This method was proved improve worker commitment in their work fully. Now days, the fixed bonus system was replaced by the performance bonus system. But some company doing their evaluation of their work force at end of the year which given short period for the worker to act on. Unfairness issues will be turn up among the work force if the performance not evaluated throughout the year. The bosses are human too which tend to forget their workers small contribution which some time become base for the big achievements. Year end evaluation should be taken off replaced with contribution base evaluation; Reward as and when the employee contributes for the management victory.
The top management need to understand one thing here carefully; the employees are their main assets. Satisfied workers will increase the organizational productivity with expect they will be rewarded. Most of companies in this region thinking to maximise the profit by cut down employee welfares. The employees are working harder during the nightmare of the company. Even the company did reach the profit they expected; it wasn’t the employee’s mistake. External forces are high percentage for a company drop in their business; less demand and product not suite the current environment will be the main concept of marketing failure. The right time for an employee evaluation is at the downstream of the company: measure against the employee’s dedication toward to bring the company image and brand. There will be a hundred way to reduce the cost of production but never cut down the raw material for the production. These employees are the raw material for each wall of the company.
“Successful managers are those always impieties the POSLC (Plan, Organize, Supervise, Lead, Control) processes into all 5M’s (Men, Moneys, Machineries, Materials, Methods). Fail in any of these M’s will slow down his performance.”
Prof. Dr. Adam Bakar, Dean School of Management
Most of the educated personnel are speaking and wrote about the importance of the employees and their satisfaction into the management system for the success of their employer. A recent research at USA involving a massive group of worker force indicate the worker give the pay, compassionate and benefits are given higher rank for the job satisfaction. Work load and uneven work distribution was took top place for job dissatisfaction. The work forces are will laterally move to other company if they not seen any movement vertically at their current organization. Lateral movement provide a salary increment beside an opportunity for a position changes. It does not mean the loyalty vanish here: what a joy if the loyalty never appreciated?
“Reflect yourself every day before bedtime to construct your day tomorrow. Ask yourself, what am I done today? What else should I able done and what are things are miss out? Whom am I met today and what did I spoke? What I should and shouldn’t spoke today? The answer for these questions will groom you to take tomorrow’s challenges.”
Capt. Leo N. Vincent, former BP Ship care’s General Manager
Our customs and culture mould us into scheduled working system. Working as per the routine schedule system: as per the job description. Working harder doesn’t mean you are performed. The employees should work SMART (specifically, manageably, accountably, responsibly, and trustily). Those having SMART was rewarded and will be rewarded. Never ever pull our personnel agenda’s into the organizational agenda. Shaping your internal capability into your personnel problem become you free access to the final victory. No employer will thanks us if just about meet the targets. We are pay for it. Employees need to exposure their self into the management vision and mission. The mission and vision made for propose of the employee understanding the employer expectation.
“My expectation is your reality”
Mr. Saravanan Krishna, ISC Director of Operation.
The commercial pressure is now everywhere. The work environments are run on negative cultures and behaviours. Blaming peoples one of it. Accountants blame marketers; commercials blame operations. At end, everyone blame the management and it process. Management is weight for the base but the workers are strength part of the building. Both need a better understanding for strong standing.
One thing is sure; the work force is a mirror of the management. The mirror always reflect each and every action of the management; kicking a mirror eventually same as kick our own self.

I am paid for do nothing
Here, I am Labuan last 2 years done nothing. Actually that is my employer intention; paying for do nothing. I do remember, I arrived Labuan around March 2009 without knowing what I am going to do here. Trust me, a man named as Capt Leo N. Vincent convinces my employer to bring me in here. Employee trafficking does not new for me. I was sold and bought by many companies due to my excellence performance. I was carrying my employer finance to top without any doubts.
There was a glories moment when everyone at my office praising me for my performance including my board of directors. My performance was paste in my company’s new letter. Whole of my life I work and work for my employer without demanding anything from them. Day or night, does not matter for me. Carry everyone’s commands up to mark. They are my superiors who determine my destiny. I was globalised and travel most of the countries in this earth. Compare to my current salary that was triples. Even thought currently still I am highly paid among my department and senior to everyone, I most of time done despatching jobs without any dissatisfaction.
Due my age, my employer may thought to keep me for time been at this place. I am not that much old as you all thought; around 30’s. But they did not realise I am internally stronger as I was sixteenth. All of my organs still at operational level and fit for carry out any task. But my organs currently paralysed by my own staff at here, Labuan. Now my live depends on the external equipment which that will only operated on day time due to cost control campaign by my company. Lucky they leave my eyes open for tear my sadness. My tear still search for what my guiltiness was. Everyone get their own jury session to speak out their rights but I totally ignored. Some time I thought I am a slave to just wait for others to write my faiths.
Do you know the worst part of my life? I am house arrested. I can’t move anywhere. Only turn my body by standing at one place. Besides, two unarmed guard staying with me and utilising my facilities to report all my activities and weekly someone from the headquarters make a visit to examine me thoroughly. Some of them were taking this advantage to touch my sensitive place on my body. I really can’t do anything much as I was chain down to bottom. Where shall I voice my rights? And who will be there to listen
I was haft dead when arrived Labuan and now fully burned by each and everyone who made me stay here. I still hoping my employer will reconsider of putting me back to action as I ready for it. I will to take the accountability for any profit loss or damage. I also frustrated to be sited without doing anything. I also decide donate my organ and body to those needed if my employer not considering my feeling.
Sorry. I had forgotten to introduce myself earlier. I am Apollo 16 who prisoner of International Shipcare Sdn. Bhd at Brunei Bay, Labuan. Soon or later, my communication also will be switched off if they knew I still transmitting my life lines.
Wait. Not finished yet. While talking to you all, I got another surprised from my company. I had been again sold to another company while at International Shipcare prison. See. How do I been appreciated? I am at sale without my knowledge and permission. Cold hearted people around me. Beside, my market is still not gone down.
Thanks for shared my feelings and I had to go back to silence without awaking the guards. Hopefully I get active again under new employer.

My route to CEO seat
My career path started early 2001 as an engineering cadet in marine engineering industry. Within a year time my title changed to forth marine engineer. Full hard work delivered from my internal spirit which helps me bring myself from marine competency class four to class two just three after my diploma graduation. I did my diploma in marine engineer from Ungku Omar Polytechnic, Ipoh. The desperate inside me did not stop me to achieve more. I continue my study at ALAM (Akedemi Laut Malaysia) year 2007 and obtain competency certificate class one from Malaysian Marine Department which recognized by JPA (Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam) as degree in engineering.
Currently I work for one oil giant BP (British Petroleum) which located at Labuan which major in laying up vessels. As routine manager over here, I need to ensure the all laid up vessel are fully operation. One of my key performance indexes was manage fleet under my care. I setup my goals and objectives to achieve an excellent in my performance review. I was promoted to junior management level after reviewed my performance last 1 year even thought I did not having any coursework on management skills. I required proving to my top management that their decision to promote me was not fail. My practical knowledge wasn’t enough to day to day management of operation.
A manager of 100 over people I need a management skill such as time and people management. The lower work forces are really low educational base. I required more time and a skill to reach their work mind to manage them as required on day to day basis. Most of the work forces are not same race/ ethnic. Their culture also difference from mine. I am really a stranger to them if I not manage them carefully, I will never achieve my goal. Targeting for a leadership, communication and interpersonal skill within next 3- 4 year isn’t archival thing as I describe.
Besides of above I am need to deal with various country customers and vendor for develop my company business. As a short term objectives are to maintain the current relationship and satisfy each customer requirement within the budgetary. As I not from any financial study, I need to obtain at least a basic foundation in the finance. The knowledge of the international business glued in my mind as my 5 year goal. The work pressure from customer, vendor and my top management which currently I facing will be solve if I gone through the skills to solve the business problem.
If I achieved above my objective and goals, I may promoted to be a general manager for my organization within next 10 year. 10 year is more than a sufficient time if I act now. I required a master degree in business management to qualify myself to apply for that position. I will be groomed by the time from I postgraduate until gain my position as a senior management level.
If my work and inputs from I gain from the MBA study applied in correct track will ensure I reach my destination. I am 100% confidence with my chosen course MBA will escalate my practical knowledge to the level of to open my own managed enterprise. The subjects though in the MBA program are an essential for junior management level as me.
The MBA program will groom me on understanding of the core disciplines of the management which I most looking forward now. It also develops the leadership, communication, interpersonal skills and skills in solving business problems though working in small groups. MBA program also will give me an internal confidence to involve in presentations and discussions.
I believe the de-moralization obtain from work pressure can avoidable if I stream this MBA program. The core value of the MBA program is it motivate everyone especially me to implement the management change and improve the existing practice to near future. Coming future will be more changeable to whom stepping in without this MBA. I won’t to be one of them. The time and changes won’t wait for us longer. My time and the opportunity come to me now. I will not give away the opportunities now which book a CEO seat for me.

ATHS “Armada Tuah 80” initial layup visit and proposal
Date : 17th September 2010 @ 1500 hrs
Team : Saravanan (Base Manager)
Saravanan Ven (Routine Engineer)
Capt. Edmund (HSSEQ MGR)
Muru (Sr. Elec. Engineer)
Current location : Labuan offshore anchorage
Scope : 1. General assessment on hazard
2. Explanation on cold lay up
3. Understanding the requirement from vessel operators
4. Propose system require
Observations
This AHTS has 4 deck of accommodation (including bridge) and 2 deck of engine room. The engine room are inter connected to the bow thruster room, cement room, main engine room, refer room, mud room and the steering room. Beside the entrance door to engine room, there has 3 hatches leading to this compartment direct from main deck. The emergency generator room located at port main deck. The shore power breaker rated 200 Amps. The emergency fire pump and the deck cranes are supplied from this emergency bus bar. The deck crane which located starboard side is rated SWL of 5 tonnes and the life raft hydraulic davit at port side rated SWL of 1.65 tonnes. The accommodation AHU located at starboard main deck.
Proposals
1. A 2000 cubic dehumidifier will be installing on aft loading deck. The ducting will run through the mid hatch at the port side in to the engine room. Then ducting will be distributed to both level of machineries spaces and extended to bow thruster room & steering room. The return air will be extract from the highest point of the machineries space or funnel stack.
2. If dehumidification to machineries spaces decided, then the vessel superintendent planning to run the main diesel engine to test the bollard winch unable to carry out. This will be affecting the efficiency of the dehumidification by removing compartment seal more frequently.
3. If above machineries routine is more essential, a high capacity layup generator leased to power directly. It is not so economical to lease higher capacity generator to run such only one machine. The idling consumptions normally are high for higher rating generator.
4. Other option is to lease a soft starter to step down the starting currently. Thus will reduce the requirement of bigger generator.
5. A 2000 cubic dehumidifier will be sufficient to dehumidify the whole accommodation. The supply ducting will be connected to the AHU and the return will extract from bridge.
6. Even for both machineries spaces and the accommodation a single 3500 cubic dehumidifier can be used to cut down the cost of diesel consumption. The ducting arrangement can be modifying such a way the whole ship is preserved.
7. A 250 kVa generator with 20 meter cable is sufficient for preservation and for normal routine. If the bollard winches included into the routine the 1000 kVa may required depending on the starting current of the biggest motor.
8. There no need any modification in emergency generator to run the windlass or the crane. Only the shore breaker needs to replace to 400 amps breaker.
9. Watchmen hut will be built at main deck far from the layup generator.
Conclusion
To dehumidify the whole AHTS just require only 2 medium sizes dehumidifiers or 1 bigger dehumidifier.
With 250 kVa generator can be expected 4000 liters diesel oil consumption at initial. Then it can be lowered haft during continues preservation. But if the bollard winches which required higher capacity generator will expected consume double of the above consumption.
Loading and offloading can be done at ASB berth or using ship crane at layup.
At least 6 float required for early notification of any water ingress.

Jack up rig “BIMA” initial layup visit and proposal
Date : 17th September 2010 @ 1300 hrs
Team : Saravanan Ven (Routine Engineer)
Capt. Edmund (HSSEQ MGR)
Muru (Sr. Elec. Engineer)
Current location : LSE berth
Scope : 1. General assessment on hazard
2. Explanation on cold lay up
3. Understanding the requirement from vessel operators
4. Propose system require
Observations
The subjected rig has total 4 decks. The top 3 decks including the main deck are accommodation and the bridge. The helipad located above the bridge. The machineries are located one deck below of the main deck. Noticed most of deck machineries including the both cranes only can operated on 600V system and other are required 480V system. Emergency generator is lead acid battery starter with common diesel daily tank. The supply to the emergency fire pump is from the emergency bus bar. The emergency generator located at 2nd deck starboard accommodation. The drilling control room located at 3rd deck aft required a dehumidification. Also the top drive control room required dehumidification. The power control located below main deck requested to supply with dehumidification.
Proposals
1. Since they requested to dehumidify the power control room, we propose that the whole machineries spaces (power control room, workshop, compressor room, cement room and generator room) can be dehumidified using single 2100 cubic dehumidifier. The DH will be place on the port main deck direct powered from the layup generator; the ducting can be run through the hatch leading to the machineries room.
2. Even the cranes are incapable to used during the layup, the main deck level will be 12-15 meter which easy reachable by the Kwong Hin barge crane. Proposed to use the barge for all loading and offloading. Only above pointed location is suitable for generator; other location are not wide and not at side of the rig.
3. The drilling control room and top drive control room are very small spaces which can be dehumidified using a 300 cubic dehumidifier each. The power can be tap directly from the layup generator.
4. Just 10 meter cable required to cable up the generator to the shore power if the generator place at pointed location.
5. The accommodation is using an individual AHU for each deck. A 2100 cubic dehumidifier located at main deck and run through each level to dehumidify the whole accommodation.
6. The rate of layup generator will decided after calculate the starting current for the emergency fire pump. At time moment a 250kVa will be sufficient.
Conclusion
To dehumidify the whole rig just require only 2 medium sizes dehumidifiers and 2 extremely small dehumidifiers for the drilling and top drive control rooms.
With 250 kVa generator can be expected 4000 liters diesel oil consumption at initial. Then it can be lowered haft during continues preservation.
No underwater blanking required as the rig will be on air gap of 6 meter.
May required more than 4 solar lights.
